Great Flash-animated song about ID cards. Most of you G&S fanatics will recognise the tune.
Today involves lots of booking transport - trains to Hitchin, planes to Dublin and America (it costs around $700 less to fly from Dublin compared to flying from London or Glasgow), car hire in Colorado - and then we're heading over to Edinburgh to see
deralte and company.
Work involves frantically getting publicity designs for the Fringe at the moment. Just two groups to go, and they both claim they'll have it ready by the end of this week...
As for the G8 protests in Edinburgh so far, what a damp squib. We were prepared for hardcore anarchists turning up with Molotov cocktails. We got a bunch of pansies who stood in Princes Street Gardens and threw flowers at the police. You could see the police standing there with little thought bubbles saying "wtf? these are meant to be dangerous criminals?" Sheesh. Not that I'm complaining, mind - a G8 with no serious injuries or fatalities is a good one. I'm amazed nobody got hospitalised when people threw park benches at one point.
delavega summed it up rather well: "I imagine that it’s a sign of a really good anarchist to have put together such a pathetic performance, I’ll bet they were all slapping each other on the back accompanied with congratulatory “Well done, that was truly piss-poor and pathetic, we are indeed so anarchic that we’ve singularly failed to organise a basic protest”."
