This has been a fun trip for the most part so far. Today is going to be a little scary, as I get interrogated by the entire Kempe family (except for the ones I met last night, who got there first and were very nice - and I have a prospective uncle-in-law who's a great cook, and several nice prospective cousins-in-law. Oh god, we're going to have in-laws.)
We have visited many bookstores, Pearl Street, a sex shop, lots of good restaurants, and an American pub with insane amounts of beer (
sakuratea suggested that I should try the sampler, and I assumed it would be six smallish glasses. It was six rather substantial glasses, about a half-pint each... and bear in mind that two pints is my usual limit for social drinking...) Yesterday was somewhat hungover. Urgh. sakuratea and ashfae also taught me to play Sorry, and whipped my Sorry ass. Had dinner with
lostknight the previous day, which was lovely (and his journal is not indicative of the rest of his personality at all, he's a great guy in person.) And he is another conspirator in the great plot to get me hooked on anime (co-conspirators so far include... er... everybody who's on Ash's friendslist, or so it seems.)[1]She was talking about her return flight to the UK, which is on September 28th and via Newark to Edinburgh arriving 29th. Yay!
